## Before You Hook Up
A little preparation goes a long way. Our service team has seen it all โ blown tires on the highway, slide-outs that won't retract, and LP systems with slow leaks. Most issues are preventable with a 30-minute check.
### 1. Tire Pressure & Condition
Check cold pressure against the placard. Inspect sidewalls for cracking or bubbling. Don't forget the spare.
### 2. Wheel Lug Torque
Torque all lug nuts to spec โ especially on trailers, which can loosen from vibration. Use a torque wrench, not a guess.
### 3. Hitch & Safety Chains
Verify the hitch ball is secure, chains are properly crossed, and the breakaway cable is attached correctly.
### 4. All Lights
Brake lights, turn signals, running lights, and 7-pin connector. Have someone stand behind while you test everything.
### 5. Slide-Out Seals
Visually inspect all slide seals for debris or tears. Clear any leaves or twigs before retracting.
### 6. Propane Connections
Check for hose cracks and do a simple soap-and-water test on all LP fittings. Any bubbles = a leak.
### 7. Water System
Flush the water heater bypass if it was winterized. Run water through all faucets and check under sinks for drips.
### 8. Battery Levels
Check battery voltage (12.6V+ is full). Clean terminals if there's corrosion.
### 9. Roof & Seals
A quick visual of the roof โ look for any lifted seams or cracked caulking around vents and skylights.
### 10. Smoke & CO Detectors
Test each detector. Replace batteries annually at minimum.
